How it all started
MyLadyBug was founded on the result of the inconveniences associated with not having tampons or pads available when women need them.
In the beginning...
Like many women, I found myself having to do the last minute dash to the shops far too often.
‘There were many times, when I had completely forgotten to stock up on pads and tampons and found myself dashing to the shops at the last minute. Of course it tended to happen when I was really busy or stressed or I just wanted to curl up with a hot water bottle,’ she recalls. ‘I was sick of forgetting and the hassle it brought with it and so I thought, there’s got to be a better way!’
The solution came to me, a simple idea, that just came from the straightforward notion of ‘having your monthly supplies come directly to you’. of "why not have the monthly supplies come to you? And why not put in some sweets and treats to make getting your period ‘a little bit nicer?’ Plus, why not make the entire process ‘as easy as ordering your favourite beauty products?’ And so MyLadyBug.ie was born.
Where we are today
From sheer determination, I set about bringing my idea to life. I enrolled in a postgraduate course at the UCD Innovation Academy and went on to win Laois County award for Best Young Entrepreneur 2014. Thanks to the win and the investment, we have finally launched MyLadyBug.ie which now brings monthly joy to its army of happy subscribers, who have ditched the period drama for a stress-free month instead.
